Letters

Hi Dana, I just received my first letter from a little boy's volunteer worker that I sponsor through Children International. I started sponsoring him in June and the letter came in July with a picture that he had colored. I also tried the online system for 3 of the children and have not heard anything back from that. I think that I will stick with the snailmail system for now. I also think that if you send packages directly to the office in a particular country, you will get better responses and feedback, from what I have heard from other sponsors. And from what I have heard, some offices are more quickly to respond than others. I hope you hear from your children soon. God bless.

I am so excited about doing this that I guess need to develop some patience!! I am going to e-mail CI and get the office addresses for Ecuador and Guatemala so I can send a small package to each. I am going to send them each a diary and pen for sure but haven’t decided on the rest. I will also include some pictures and postcards.

Thanks for your encouragement and information!

Dana

At startup it took about 6 weeks to get the ball rolling but right now I have letters coming in like crazy. It's hard to keep up!

I write my letters by hand to the field office. My b/f sends email letters to his kids and everything seems to work just fine. Give it some time to process and soon enough you'll be getting so many letters you won't know what to do! lol

You are right!! Since I wrote this, I have received 3 letters from Jimena (but still none from Gabriela. The last one I received, Jimena spelled her name “Ximena” but I am not sure why (she spelled it Jimena in all the other letters so it isn’t just a typo). It is so thrilling to get those CI envelopes in the mail!! I picked up a few small gifts to send to each girl and will get them packaged this weekend to go out on Monday.
